It's that time at the end of the year when most of us find the time to pause and reflect on what life dealt out to us.

The monkeys on Gaia certainly had a lot to deal with this past year.

Macaques had Tsunamis invading their shores with long-term effects. Many died, many more suffered, and are still working out how to cope with the aftermath.

Gorillas changed their leaders in barbaric ways up North - because their leaders led like barbarians. The gorilla's now have new communications which allow them to see how the other primates run their communities and rebelled against their leaders. Problem is that they can;t seem to find new leaders that can run things the way they like, or agree how they want it run.

Not that the other primates are doing much better. The Barbary Apes have bartering problems and are trying to solve these by fleecing the older ones in their population.

The squirrel monkeys are trying to work out how an ape got to be the leader. (Not that he's that bad a leader, just doesn't seem to be able to get all the squirrel monkeys to pull together).

The Baboons seem to be having many leadership challenges. Lots of noise & screeching, not much physical fighting. Too busy filling their coffers with bartering commissions.

Ape Money - BRICS

So, seems the basis used for bartering goods and services (banana, dollars, euros etcetera) is undergoing some hardships. As good decent, monkeys from the South African wilds (urban wilds), and with recent developments of our South African connections (Alpha Apes iN Charge agreement to form Brazilian, Russian, Indian, Chinese n South Africa - BRICS for short - trading confederation) we think it only logical to change from our banana money to a new mutually usable coin or note called BRICS.

We feel BRICS should be formally recognised and strongly suspect there are already surepticious cases of BRICS being thrown around. Also seems to be adopted mainly by the Apes iN Charge Youth League we have seen gathering to "express" their deep frustrations at not being given a lot of the jungle patches that have been used by the chimps for generations. Raging hormones n support from Gorillas at work here. Future Alpha males giving notice of challenges to come?
